December 2014 The cove is open for daily activities including Hiking, Rifle Range, and ATV trail riding. We are also open for primitive camping, and cabin/shelter rental. At this point in time all water points and flush toilets/showers are closed until spring.

January 2015 The rifle range has reopened after an extensive maintenance period. Thank you for your patience during this period. We have improved our primary rifle range width by 100% and added a large pistol range, that is separate from the main rifle range. We look forward to seeing you on the range in 2015.

October 2015 October 25th The Cove will be hosting a charity horse trail riding event. The ATV and motorcycle trails will be closed for this event. The trails will reopen Monday October 26th for normal riding hours. November 2015 November 26th The Cove will be closed for daily activities including Rifle Range and ATV riding. We will reopen on the 27th of November for normal business. December 2019 From December 25th through the 6th of January The Cove will be closed for camping, ATV and Off-road activities. The Cove will be open for daily admissions only on the weekends of December 27th-29th and again on January 3rd-5th 2020. The Cove will resume normal activities and schedule beginning January 6th 2020. Please call the office for details 540-858-2882. April 2020 Camping is prohbited until such time as the stay at home order issued by the state of Virginia is lifted. Dailiy activities will remain alvailable I.E. ATV riding, hiking, fishing, climbing, Rifle range etc... Thank you for your patience and understanding during these troubling times. May 2020 Camping and all activities are open for the 2020 season. Restrictions are in place for boat rentals, all persons wanting to rent boats must provide their own lifejackets. We are asking all customers to observe social distancing while on property. We are also asking all customers to remain in their cars during the check in process. The office will be closed to foot traffic, please remain outside for service. Please remember to keep group sizes at or under the required size according the VA orders for COVID-19 regulations, larger groups must utilize multiple sites. July 2021 July 10th 2021 the Short rifle range will be closed to host a private class held by GORUCK, the range will reopen to the general public on Sunday July 11th 2021.
